What made you want to work in architecture?
I’ve always had an interest and appreciation of design and architecture, and the impact that a person’s surroundings can have on how they feel, and how productive they can be in a space. It’s exciting to be part of a creative team who are innovating and creating positive change.
Which would you rather: tea or coffee?
Hands down tea! A good cup of English breakfast is the answer to almost everything.
What was your first-ever job?
When I was 17 I worked as a children’s entertainer. On a good day, I’d get to dress up as a princess or a fairy, but on a bad day, I would be a farmyard pig!!
What has been your favourite project to ever work on?
It was a student project – we were asked to brand a multipurpose events space, starting with the design of the building, then creating the calendar of events and the branding of all collateral. It was such a great project to get stuck into because we started with a blank canvas, and of course, had an unlimited budget!
If you could have an unlimited supply to anything, what would it be?
Definitely Cake. Probably chocolate fudge or carrot … but I’m not fussy, I’ll eat any cake!
What is your heaven and hell food?
I absolutely love Asian food! Heaven would probably be a Thai green curry.
There isn’t much I don’t eat, but I am not a fan of oysters!!
If you could meet any architect or designer (dead or alive), who would it be?
I would love to meet graphic designer Paula Scher. Her work and career are a great source of inspiration, and I’m fascinated by her approach to typography.
