CMS (Glasgow)
- Legal
- 20,000sqft
- Designed to improve client experience
- Open-plan lawyers
The heart of the Glasgow office concept is to reinforce the CMS brand, implement progression of the Cannon Place, London, vision and promote regional context. The light bright interior is designed to enhance the collaborative ethos and enhance satisfaction and wellbeing. The concierge approach continues with the multi-functionality of the arrival space for meetings, events and touchdown space.
Exchanging typical enclosed legal offices for an open, client-centred environment that supports collaborative working allowed for radical re-thinking. The visitor experience, from arrival onwards, focuses on the client and global reach of CMS.
CMS committed to an ongoing strategy of modernisation which has elevated the brand and won awards including The Lawyer’s Business Leadership Award. The newly relocated Glasgow office implements a design concept incubated in the London Cannon Place HQ that focuses on enjoyment, wellbeing and productivity for clients and employees.
CMS required a multiple-goal strategy in how they proposed to occupy their new state-of-the-art building: implement an agile working environment while delivering a decrease in overall net lettable area from 30,000 to 21,139sq ft; at the same time increasing fee earner head count. With this concept it was possible to create the next generation of legal open plan which further reduces barriers, promotes lateral connectivity and increases productivity.
Shortlisted in the British Council of Offices Awards 2017 in the category of ‘Fit out of Workplace – Scotland’.
