Eversheds wanted their new London HQ at One Wood Street to support their culture: egalitarian, open and collegiate. To develop a strategy that would answer that brief KKS tested and challenged a number of pre-existing notions regarding work space, in particular the negative impact that open-plan working is presumed to have on legal staff retention and client perceptions.

After evaluating a range of possible options, KKS developed the ‘studio workplace concept’, progressed in collaboration with Woods Bagot. This innovative solution allowed for private concentrated work and enabling technology and, by virtue of a transparent flexible working environment, promoted an open culture the firm aspired to.
