Norton Rose Fulbright
Norton Rose Fulbright, the international law firm based in London, decided that its HQ accommodation had begun to actively restrict its business. Taking advantage of opportunities to relocate presented by the real estate downturn, the firm engaged KKS to advise on a new single HQ building solution for over 1100 staff.
Through interviews and workshops with the Management Committee, statistical data plotting the realignment of Norton Rose Fulbright’s business and the use of their London office space, KKS prepared a strategic brief.
The base building definition and design brief produced a shortlist of eight potential developments. Further work pinpointed two preferred candidates: 201 Bishopsgate (British Land) and 3 More London (More London Development): the latter was chosen.
KKS specification of 3 More London for Norton Rose Fulbright, besides aesthetic and cladding design, involved re-siting the building to maximise views, redistribution and addition of base build cores, and redesign of the structural column grid to ensure a building of the highest quality.
KKS client-side modifications included a dedicated express client lift, client terrace, and rear underground taxi tunnel. To maximise staff efficiency KKS proposed a 200-cover staff restaurant and a 250 seat multi-function auditorium.
